THE BAND
Hiroshima Hearts plays Rock and Roll you can dance to. Stripped down to its core elements of guitar, bass, drums, and vocals, Hiroshima Hearts offers no frills, no unnecessary ornamentation, only pure energy, grit, and gumption. Their lives shows are an explosion of sweat and stomping on the stage and in the crowd.
Founding members Tyler Turek (guitar) and Michael Del Vecchio (bass) formed the band while shirking their responsibilities as graduate students in the History Department at Western University. The band had humble beginnings at Western’s Grad Club, but quickly became a feature in the London, ON music scene.
Jenn Marino (vocals) joined the band in 2014 and reinfused the group with pure rock and roll energy. Marino, a natural performer, has been entertaining crowds with her music and acting skills since childhood. Renowned London drummer Mark Swan joined the band in 2019. Swan brings with him an impressive pedigree including winning the national Drumeo/Victoria Drum Fest Drum Solo Contest in 2016. All four members actively contribute to the band’s songwriting process, helping explain their eclectic Rock and Roll sound. If it rocks, the Hearts play it.
Now a staple in London, ON, Hiroshima Hearts regularly packs local venues for headlining shows. The band has also offered opening support to rock and roll greats Nazareth, Canadian hard rock legends Headstones and Finger Eleven, and Canadian punk rock queen Bif Naked, among many others. The band has performed several industry showcases including Canadian Music Week (2016, 2017, 2018), Indie Music Week (2016), and Junofest (2019).
